For more than 15 years we at Grosso Legnoarchitetture have been active participants in tenders and consequently builders of public works. In order to participate in tenders we need basic requirements without which it is impossible to take part in this mechanism, which are fundamental to attest the technical, economic and transparency capacity of a company and are attested through certificates. Among the most important ones (for works from € 150,000.00 and up) is the SOA.
What is SOA?
The SOA (Società Organismo di Attestazione) is a compulsory Attestation, issued by authorized Attestation Bodies, which proves the economic and technical capacity of a company to qualify for the execution of public works contracts of an amount greater than €150,000.00 and also confirms that the certified entity has all the necessary requirements for public contracting.
How is SOA obtained?
It must be demonstrated that the company meets the requirements of Article 80 of Legislative Decree No. 50 of April 18, 2016 (i.e., the absence of wrongdoing), regularity of contributions, economic capacity, suitable average annual workforce, suitable technical management, suitable equipment and production premises. It is also necessary to be in possession of ISO 9001 certification (certifying the company’s quality), but above all to have already performed work in the required categories with an amount not less than 90 percent of that of the required classification.
The category and classification of the SOA
One can hold more than one category but only one classification. There are 52 categories and they can be general works or specialized works, while only 10 classifications from I (up to € 258,000) to VIII (over € 15,494,000).

After proving that we meet all the requirements, it is since 2009 that we at Grosso Legnoarchitetture, have been SOA certified in category OS32 in IV bis (up to € 3,500,000) and OG1 in II (up to € 516,000).
